Dear Friends,

I am happy to announce that the Matthew 25 website is up and operational.  I worked with a great team of people around the Province get it done.  In addition, many donors have stepped forward to provide the initial funding for this project. As funds continue to be available, we will open up new phases of the application. (But the first application process has begun.)

We are all thankful to Archbishop Beach for his early vision behind this effort. The seed gift is secured; more will be given over the next year.

In December of last year, he wrote this:

…people are starting to know about The Matthew 25 Initiative. This is a church-wide undertaking in the US and Canada. Matthew 25 is already helping our churches to live out the words of our Lord Jesus in His last and final: “Whenever you did it to the least of these, you did it to me…”  (Matthew 25:40ff) What Jesus said is this: As we reach and love the poor, the downcast, the suffering and the sick, the orphaned and outcast, we are reaching and loving the person of our Lord Jesus.

Matthew 25 is a program that symbolizes the hope and vision I have for every single congregation in our Province to start and grow a Matthew 25 effort in their community.

So, we are set to go. The case is simple: let’s build ministries and outreach for those in need around us; let’s bring mercy and justice to bear for the children, adults, young and old in our communities. Donors are stepping up to make funds available…so let’s step out and dream what God would have you do.

The URL is simple: www.Matthew25i.org. Register your email to be kept informed.

Here is a short intro video about it…

Mathew 25 is what moved me into the Kairos prison ministry.

May all these good efforts to help the poor, the orphaned, and the needed in the world be not without bringing these persons into our Churches, to give Christ Himself thanks; for His Glory. This is the most nourishment we may provide them, that other worldly help efforts do not offer. May we not forfeit our own responsibility to our children, and widow’s needs within our Churches, and those alike who are in our own Christian families. Let us be in good order. Let us not lack in this responsibility.
