Thank you very much for being a part of the Anglican Pastor and Rookie Anglican community. We love to receive your notes of encouragement and ideas for new posts.
This is the time of year when I ask each of our readers to make a donation to support the costs of keeping up this site.
Recently, Alan Hawkins, Rector of Redeemer, Greensboro, North Carolina wrote to me:
Anglican Pastor is a tremendous gift needed in North American Anglicanism. The writers have always demonstrated the ability to make simple, gracious, and digestible the often difficult concepts of Anglican practice. The writing style has been such a resource for me trying explore and explain some of great aspects to our heritage. I send the articles to people inside the congregation I serve as well as outside. Their work is invaluable to me, I commend it to you.
To keep this up, we have all of the normal costs like domain name and server space, but we also have high enough traffic to need a few extras to keep the content flowing smoothly. And each year have new editorial initiatives we would like to launch, but we need your support to make those happen.
I recently visited a clergy conference for deacons and priests from around the country. As I talked with person after person, they mentioned that this site has been helpful to them. Several mentioned that when they were new to Anglicanism, this site helped them understand our ways. Others have used our content to help newcomers learn about Anglicanism, and more importantly, to grow in Christ.
Listen to just a few of our other recent comments:
I am getting baptized this coming Easter morning and I want to thank you again for the helpful information that truly helped my confused soul along this journey. I pray for the blessings of everyone involved with Anglican Pastor and look forward to our life in Christ. -Keigan, Tennessee
Today I was meandering through some online articles and found Rookie Anglican. LOVE it! As the Children’s Director here at my church, I often try to take the basics of Anglicanism down to a child’s level so they can understand the ‘why’ along with the ‘what’. I can also think of adult ed applications for some of what I have read so far. – Debra, Florida
I have so much to learn and appreciate the help I am getting from your blog – Shuan, New Zealand
Thank you for your weekly posts providing richer meaning into the Collects. My friend and I both read them and it gives us a more meaningful time of worship on Sunday and an opportunity to discuss the content as “rookie Anglicans.” – Joel
